Iyengar Yoga Retreat for Artists

Møn, Denmark — August 3-10, 2026

We invite you to join us on the island of Møn, Denmark — a place of vast skies, ancient cliffs, and deep stillness — for a retreat that weaves together Iyengar Yoga, creative exploration and spacious rest.

The retreat will take place at Strandgården, a Danish farmhouse situated on the Baltic Sea, just steps from the beach (Rabylile Strand). It is a peaceful, soulful place to relax and reconnect to yourself and your creativity.

During the course of the retreat, we will explore how the body's alignment, rhythm and felt sense can open pathways to deeper creative expression. Through the mindful awareness created in the asana and pranayama practices, the body becomes a place to listen rather than push; a vehicle for creative expression to unfold naturally.

Each morning, we will move through an intelligent, grounding yoga practice, followed by breakfast under the trees. We will reconvene in the afternoon to dedicate ourselves to the creative process, reflection and the simple act of being present. Evenings will offer gentle, restorative practices, shared conversation over dinner, and time to let the nervous system soften. The intention is not to "produce," but to experience how creativity grows when the body feels grounded, regulated and awake.

Between sessions, there will be time to savor the afterglow of your practice in the unspoiled island setting — relaxing at the farmhouse, going for a swim, taking a walk along the Baltic Sea, or exploring Møn’s gorgeous woodlands and meadows. A bit further afield is the historic town of Stege, the quaint village of Nyord, and the famously stunning Møns Klint (White Cliffs of Møn).

This retreat is designed for artists, the art-curious, and anyone longing for a slower rhythm. No art background is required — only a desire to reconnect with yourself and the world around you. All levels of yoga practitioners are welcome.

Together, we will explore:

  • Daily yoga classes taught by Eve Holbrook and Liza Toft.

  • The relationship between practice, perception and artistic expression

  • Quiet "studio" hours for painting, writing or your personal creative process, guided by Liza Toft.

  • Walks along Mon Klint and moments of solitude in nature including exploring Møn's gorgeous woodlands and meadows, or simply relaxing at the farmhouse.

  • Community, nourishment and renewal

If you feel called to restore your body, re-ignite your creative life, and experience the beauty of Møn with us, we would be honored to share this retreat with you.

With warmth,

Liza and Eve

PRICING:

The full cost of this retreat is $1,675 for a shared room, and $1,800 for a single. An Early Bird Discount of $100 is available through December 31, 2025. The price includes all yoga classes, three lovingly-prepared, organic vegetarian meals per day, seven nights accommodations, and use of Strandgården’s grounds. It does not include art materials/supplies, airfare and ground transportation.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Our accommodations are elegant and charming, along with being rustic and humble. In order to help keep costs low, the farmhouse has a minimal staff. Therefore, retreat participants engage in very basic "yogi jobs" like setting the table, rinsing dishes, loading the dishwasher after meals, and keeping the dining area tidy. Sharing the workload is an ancient and noble tradition that is meant to be considered a part of our practice.

In pure old Danish farmhouse form, there are no ensuite bathrooms. There are three large bathrooms to be shared by the group of 12.

TO REGISTER:

Please fill out and submit this registration form, noting your room preference (private or shared), and we will confirm availability and send payment instructions. A $500 deposit is required to hold your space in our retreat at Strandgården. Full payment is due on May 3, 2026.

*An Early Bird Discount of $100 is available through February 1st, 2026

Mexico Retreat 2026

Join Eve Holbrook and me at our annual Iyengar Yoga Retreat

at Mar de Jade in the beautiful area of Nayarit, Mexico.

March 7th - 14th 2026

Mar de Jade—situated on the Pacific coast of Mexico between the blue-green sea and tropical mountainside of Chacala Beach—is surrounded by natural beauty and tranquility. It is the ideal location to connect with yourself, deepen your practice, and explore the rich culture of Mexico.

Join Eve Holbrook and me for a seven-day retreat in this spectacular location, 90 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta Airport by car. We will teach two daily yoga classes suitable for all levels from relative beginners to more advanced practitioners—an active asana practice in the morning and a restorative pranayama practice in the evening. The setting at Mar de Jade is an ideal place to truly restore your mind and body. Practicing so near to the tranquil sound of the ocean and healing elements of the jungle, along with nourishing our bodies with the delicious homemade food from the organic farm, will bring about a sense of restoration to your whole being.

Between sessions, there will be plenty of time for optional excursions (including a tour of the Altavista petroglyphs, traditional Mexican markets, nearby villages and beach towns, whale watching, and a boat trip), spa treatments, or simply relaxing at Mar de Jade.

The full cost of the retreat ranges from $1,950-$3750 per person, depending on choice of accommodation (please go to www.mardejade.com for descriptions), and an Early Bird Special is available to those who register before October 8th, 2025. The pricing listed below includes all yoga classes, lovingly-prepared organic meals, and seven nights accommodation. It does not include airfare to Puerto Vallarta, ground transportation, spa treatments, bar drinks, or gratuities.

To reserve your space, payment for the yoga portion of the retreat is required ($800, or $700 for early birds) and must be made separately with Liza via Zelle (lizatoft@gmail.com) or Venmo (@Liza-Toft). Payment for accommodations and meals must be made directly with Mar de Jade. You can call the resort toll-free at 1-800-257-0532, write them at groups@mardejade.com, or use this unique booking link: Book Online.

Mar de Jade was created in 1983 in the spirit of active community service, gratitude for the natural environment, and cultivation of human life. To that end, it has founded numerous community projects, including regeneration of the land via non-toxic farming methods on a 19-acre organic farm, and an after-school program for local children in Las Varas, a nearby farming village. It is far more than a vacation destination; it is a community we love to return to year after year.
